I’d been carrying around the same burnt orange roller bag for a decade when Nate surprised me with the best Christmas present a frequent traveler could ask for:Read More
This past December, Nate and I took a two-week vacation to Scotland. We stayed in gorgeous city center hotels, and an impressive (though if being honest, sort of stuffy) castle in the Highlands. But our absolute favorite property was this simple cottage we rented on the Isle of Skye.Read More
For our 10th wedding anniversary, Nate kindly asked if he could plan a surprise vacation. I couldn’t imagine anything more romantic—until I remembered that I was a control freak who obsessed over destination spreadsheets and type-A trip documents.
But of course, I obliged.Read More
Fancy brunch is a thing in New Orleans. When people do a morning meal in this city, they do it well. From a Garden District classic to a newbie with free-flowing Champagne, here are a few of my favorites that are worth putting on your Sunday finest.Read More
It's hard to choose the best place you've traveled to--especially when you love traveling so much. We both obsess over the organized chaos of Tokyo--so much that Nate says he could live there. After spending a week in a charming apartment in Tuscany, we began googling real estate. (We also gained a combined total of 20 pounds on that trip.) But we have a new favorite…Read More
This past January, we took a week-long trip to Cuba and had such an incredible experience. We decided to spend the entire week in Havana, and I can't tell you how many times we'd be walking down one Instagrammable street or another and say, "I feel like we're in a time warp." Really, it's like nowhere else we've been, and now is the time to visit if you've not. That said, Cuba is one of those places in which it helps to do a bit of research and planning before you leave (unlike some of our trips where we totally wing it). Luckily, I gleaned loads of valuable info from my fellow travel writers. Here, a few of our favorite reasons for visiting Cuba right now.
Nate and I travel often and want a space to remember our trips and share them with others. We want a place to reminisce about the time our airline went out of business mid-flight, leaving us stranded in Mexico--certainly not a bad place to be. We want a digital piece of paper to discuss the time we re-did our honeymoon (same resort, room, and restaurants) 14 years post-wedding; a place to commensurate about when we were puked on in a train car from Paris to Amsterdam--not the romantic New Year's vacation we'd hoped for. And we want a corner of the internet to recommend our favorite hotels and restaurants--from Vietnam to India to Laos to the Caribbean--we have lots of them.
We're both writers. Travel is our passion. Here's our little place on the internet for this whole thing. We hope you like it.
