Have a Wonderful Weekend!
What are you plans for the weekend? Nate and I are currently living in a hotel in Shreveport, Louisiana (!!!), and we’re thrilled to head back to our home in New Orleans to visit friends and gather pounds of mail.
Here are a few favorite links from around the web:
I’ve recently become obsessed with Refinery 29’s Money Diaries. This post follows a furloughed government employee.
This story on “Eight Weird Signs of Growing Up“ on Man Repeller is great. (Let’s never be afraid to complement each other!)
A pair of fun and pretty (and maybe even sensible) heels.
I loved this story from Jami Attenberg on what it’s like to move from NYC to NOLA. (I can relate to this a lot but still miss the subway system so much.)
The Atlantic’s “It’s Really Hard to Study Artificial Sweeteners” tries to tease apart the impact of sweeteners with everything else we put in our bodies. Do you use artificial sweeteners in your coffee or elsewhere? I’ve taken my coffee just about every way over the past 20 or so years, but have landed on black. As Nate says, “You’ll always get it the way you want it.” Basically, I’m lazy.
This story about Jeopardy! (In People Mag) is so sweet. I love how Alex Trebeck talks about his wife—and can you believe he’s 78?!
THE NYT’S 52 Places for 2019 is out. Tunis made this year’s list and is one of my favorite cities. I’ve yet to go to Wyoming, and dream of visiting one of those amazing dude ranches. Where have you been and where do you want to go?
