A Fun Thing: Theme Dates
While living in a hotel this past month, we’ve been searching for inexpensive and fun things to do on the weekends. We have zero friends unless you count the front desk staff at the Homewood Suites by Hilton, so we decided to take turns planning theme dates.
Nate planned “Italian” date night and we made homemade gnocchi in our tiny kitchen. This past Saturday, I planned an 80s theme day and we went to the town’s roller skating rink, Hot Wheels, which was basically like being time warped into my childhood except that I was a far worse skater. It had the same skates, the same snacks, the same smell, and probably a few locals who’d not left since about 1985. I made mac ‘n cheese and Jell-o pudding for dinner to keep it classy, and we watched Weird Science, which is sort of strange but still equally amazing.
