The Best Travel Backpack
Along with my Away Carry-On, I almost always bring a backpack on a trip. My absolutely favorite is the Herschel Little America. This unisex pack is not only lightweight, but outfitted with all of the bells and whistles one needs while traveling. There’s a lined fleece laptop pocket that easily fits my MacBook Air, and the interior is large enough for my thin blanket to be rolled into the bottom, an in-air beauty kit, a reusable water bottle, my awkward-looking neck pillow—all with room to throw in my small handbag before boarding the plane.
I love that the backpack has a convenient drawstring closure with a flap that snaps into place (but looks as if it buckles), which makes opening and closing the bag a breeze. I always put my house keys in the front pocket for easy access.
I’ve had my Herschel backpack for about eight years and it shows no wear at all—and I use it constantly. This variety has a ton of colors; I bought the olive green at Madewell, the only color they sold at the time, and while I don’t love the shade, the product is well worth the $99 price tag for function, style, and durability.
