Do You Have a Summer Bucket List?
I know that we’re all over the whole “bucket list” mantra, but this is really more about having a fun list of things to do in the summertime. In Louisiana, our warm weather starts creeping in around April and stays steamy until October. June and July can be crushing, but if you can get to a swimming pool in the afternoon, it leaves room for hot-night porch drinks come evening. Here’s my list. What’s yours?
Go camping in California—particularly on the beach.
Spend an entire day at a hotel pool drinking pina coladas.
Go to a water park. I put this on my to-do list every summer and it makes Nate vomity—he’s very much in the anti-water park camp.
Take my dog to get an ice-cream cone.
Take a cross-country road trip. And maybe even do some of the driving.
Visit Natchitoches and live out my “Steel Magnolia” dreams.
Jump in a lake.
Get on a boat.
Read anything I can get my hands on.
